Ted
Riser
has come a long way from his southern roots from Athens,
Ohio. Ted began playing guitar and harmonica at the
age of 9. Ted was nurtured by his mother, a piano
teacher with boogie woogie influences such as Tommy
Dorsey, Count Basie and Glen Miller. As a child he
was an actor in many high school plays such as, The
Music Man and The Sound of Music.
Singing
and dancing in front of people at an early age made
it natural for Ted to per-form live in front of large
audiences. With his popular influences ranging from
Roy Clark, The Eagles and Neil Young, he also studied
music formally at Kent State University. He left college
at age 21 to start a long career of forming bands
and playing numerous events, always working on mastering
his craft.
Since
then, he has performed with many artists such as David
Allen Coe, Kentucky Head-hunters, Greg Allman and
Marshall Tucker Band. He has also performed at the
Bethel Music Festival in Woodstock, New York; Blossom
Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; The Broken Spoke
Saloons at Sturgis, South Dakota and Laconia, New
Hampshire.
Although
Ted Riser's band has been around for ten years, Ted
has found a spiritual contentment which has made him
ready for the big time. He guides his members every
step of the way with love, respect and camaraderie.
Ted has recently released his new CD recorded in Nashville
Early Riser The CD consists of all originals,
mostly country and southern rock. Ted has also just
released a new DVD featuring Half Done
a depiction of everything half done because of you.
This DVD was created with the help of Students at
Auburn Career Center in Concord Twp Ohio. The DVD
is currently in contention for a State Award for creativity
and content by BPS Broadcasting and e-Tech Ohio. All
CDs and DVD may be ordered here at tedriser.com.
Listening to the CD and watching, however, will not
be enough. You've got to see him play to get the full
message and if you plan on checking him out, I'd suggest
you do it quick before he goes on tour or locks himself
in a room writing.
