Steve
Jochum is a working professional singer/songwriter/musician,
from the Cleveland Ohio area. He sang, played guitar,
and wrote the regional hit "Funky Poodle"
as a member of "The Wild Horses". "Funky
Poodle" is on the soundtrack of the Paramount
Movie, "You, Me and Dupree", starring Owen
Wilson and Kate Hudson.
The
song was on the Billboard Charts, and went on to be
the biggest regional hit, receiving airplay on 101.7
WMMS, as well as 106.5, and KROC in L.A., and was
included in a compilation CD on Oglio Records, as
well as Esquire Records.
As
a member of "Wild Horses", the band was
voted the "Number 1" band for 5 years in
the Cleveland Area, due mostly to Steve's writing,
singing, and performing ability. Steve has written
hundreds of songs, and recorded 2 albums while with
the "Horses", writing most of the tunes.
Steve released his first solo CD in 2006, entitled
"Big Zipper", with Tommy Rich on drums ("Donnie
Iris, American Noise"), and Chris DeHaas, ("Odd
Girl Out"), and has hosted WNCX 98.5 FM morning
drive show. He also performed on "Fox 8 in the
Morning," to promote his new CD release.
Steve is honored to be included in Deanna Adams book,
"Rock n Roll and the Cleveland Connection",
as a major contributor to the N.E. Ohio's music scene.
He has shared the stage with The Ramones, Southside
Johnny, Warren Zevon, The Beach Boys, Michael Stanley,
David Johansen, Edwin McCain, and many more.
While a member of "Golden Hall", he shared
the stage with Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Hal Ketchum
and many others. He also wrote and recorded a number
of songs for this "Warner Brothers" project.
Steve currently performs with his band, "BIG
ZIPPER", and solo/acoustically. He has finished
his 2nd Cd,"Unzipped", a solo/acoustic CD,
and is recording new original music for the 3rd CD,
to be released later this year.
